About

Scott A. Butler is a multi-genre British author and pseudonymous writer who has successfully demonstrated that a human being can, in fact, function almost entirely on tea and quietly brilliant ideas. (Mostly tea, if we’re honest.)

His journey into storytelling began after losing his hearing as a child — a twist of fate that gave rise to an imagination both vivid and unstoppable. To spare others from the confusion of hearing his imaginary worlds described aloud, Scott wisely turned to writing. An antique typewriter discovered at his grandparents’ house became his first portal to the page, where he discovered a comforting truth: writing about fictional people is far less complicated than trying to talk to real ones.

When he’s not weaving new worlds or being socially awkward, Scott can usually be found serving his household’s true masters (the animals), hoarding obscure Doctor Who trivia, and perfecting the noble art of tea-and-cake appreciation. He also spends an admirable amount of time pretending not to be jealous of other authors’ success — though not always convincingly.

Dreams

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
